In the State of Alabama, a juvenile court case is brought forward when a person has committed a crime or needs special supervision prior to their 18th birthday . These cases relate to two areas: juvenile delinquency and juvenile dependency.
Has your child been charged with a criminal offense in Huntsville? Though the situation may seem hopeless, this doesn’t have to ruin the rest of their life. Criminal acts committed by minors generally are not considered as serious as those committed by adults.
Once a case is put before the Juvenile Court, it will be heard by a judge who will decide a verdict based on the best interest of the child. The intake officer will decide whether a juvenile will be returned to his parents or taken into custody.
We’re here to guide you every step of the way.
In Alabama, a dependent child is defined as a minor who is orphaned, neglected, abused, or in need of other care. A petition for assistance may be brought by a parent, relative, or other concerned adult.
At Robertson Law, the primary concern is the child’s best interests. A child’s wishes are always considered when making a custody decision or other resolution that will affect the well-being of the child. Attorney Robertson will do whatever it takes to get your child where they belong.
All juvenile cases are confidential, and records are not made available to the public. Your privacy is of the utmost importance.
