At Robertson Law, we understand that the death of a loved one is a trying time for family and friends alike. It was the death of founding attorney Michael Robertson’s mother that inspired him to start a practice dedicated to helping others experiencing loss.
Attorney Robertson is a longtime Huntsville resident who practices estate law throughout North Alabama. He is committed to helping local families with probate in a compassionate and understanding manner.
Probate can be a complex process, but with a knowledgeable and experienced probate attorney, it doesn’t have to be.
Probate involves validating a deceased individual’s will and settling their estate. If an individual dies with a will (testate), an executor is appointed by the document to handle inheritance. However, if the person passes without a will (intestate), an administrator must be appointed to handle the deceased’s estate.
It is important to get solid and empathetic guidance during such a tough time. This not only ensures your deceased relative’s assets are transferred pursuant to their wishes and in an efficient manner but guarantees you and your loved ones the peace of mind you deserve. At Robertson Law, we’re here to make probate easy. Let us handle the process for you so you can move on.
By law, a probate in Alabama will take at least six months. During this time, creditors and others with a claim to the estate will receive notice that the estate is being probated and that they can submit their claim. If there are no complex claims, such as assets or property in multiple states or disputes between family members / beneficiaries, the process can be completed within six months to a year. If any probate litigation is begun, the process may take longer.
Contact Attorney Robertson to help progress the probate and give you peace of mind!
